Truths & Love

An inspired girl spreads the love by gifting quote cards of gathered truths. 365 cards. 365 days. Share your truth.

Day 133.  Reading this makes me smile because it ever so subtly mimics the cliche yoga-ism: When we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.  I seriously don’t think I ever heard that quote before stepping inside a yoga studio for the first time.  Or maybe I did, but wasn’t ready to fully hear it.  This quote reminds me of how many people I’m thankful for.  Family and friends, obviously. But even those strangers or people I meet randomly and only know for 5 minutes or an hour.  Something so small turns into something BIG.  Paying forward random acts of kindness truly inspire.  Smiles create more smiles.  Hugs save lives.  I gave this card to Sarah, a co-worker friend, tonight while at work.  Sarah probably doesn’t know it, but her being her, inspires me big time.  Sarah is shy.  Quiet.  Doesn’t talk a whole lot.  But definitely speaks with purpose.  Sarah doesn’t know it, but I’m super working on that trait of quiet.  I talk a lot.  No, really.  A LOT.  And I know I need to just shut the eff up most of the time, but it’s hard, right?  Even though I’m a 4 and like to be super individualistic, there is definitely room to improve the practice of not saying every single thing that comes to my mind.  Or, as my husband likes to put it, “use a filter.” Today, I am reminded that I don’t need to be the center of attention to shine my light.  I just need to be.  :)
